We have all been there… a nice long day of kayaking and a big red head of sunburn. Ok well most of you prob have hair to protect your head and really most of you should be wearing a helmet! That is not to say the rest of your body won’t get burnt. I can’ tell you the amount of time my tanning lotion has wore off after being in the water for hours.
The truth is in the heat of the moment when you are going down the rapids or just catching your breath and coasting you are not thinking about sun burn, you are thinking about going balls to the walls again. That thinking will change after you get your arms chapped with sunburn a few times.
Just like in any sport you will want to protect your skin so you are not only safer, but risking future sun damage. You will also be able to have a fuller day when you are not dealing with the side effects of the sun.
Every year everything gets better and better and tanning lotions are no exceptions. You can check out http://www.tanninglotionoutlet.com/lotion_2013_lotions.htm and see what lotions are right for you in 2013. I always like to keep a small bottle in my storage pouch just in case. At least covering your face and the top of your arms is a plus.
